Why use high precision shear in laser tailor welding?
Tailor welded blanks have been widely used in automobile industry. Using laser tailor welded blanks technology can not only reduce the manufacturing cost, logistics cost, vehicle weight, assembly tolerance, fuel consumption and scrap rate, but also reduce the number of peripheral reinforcement parts, simplify the assembly steps, and improve the collision ability, stamping forming rate and anti-corrosion ability of vehicles. In laser welding, the materials are butted, not overlapped, which will bring the following welding characteristics:
(1) Reduce the volume of the welding area, for example, the weld width should not exceed 0.5 ~ 1 mm;
(2) The weld height does not increase;
(3) It has little effect on the formability;
(4) The cathodic protection function of the weld can be maintained after galvanizing;
(5) In the welding process, the heat affected zone is small.

Laser practitioners should also pay attention to the following points when using laser products:
1. Before the first operation, please read the user manual and operation manual attached with the laser product carefully, and strictly abide by the specified operation procedures.
2. Do not look directly at the laser beam and its reverse beam. When the machine breaks down, even if there is no visible light, do not use the naked eye to approach the laser for inspection, because some lasers will emit infrared and ultraviolet light invisible to human eyes.
3. When using 3B laser or above, the staff should remove any glossy objects, such as ornaments, watches and badges. Wear protective glasses to avoid eye injury caused by reflected light. Tie up your long hair and put on your experiment cap. When using laser cutting equipment to process materials that are easy to produce dust, wear dust masks and do a good job in fire prevention.
4. The peak power of pulsed (Q-switched, mode-locked, ultrafast) laser is very high, which may cause damage to the experimental parts. Please confirm the anti damage threshold of your test piece before use.
5. There should be no inflammables and explosives in the working area where the laser equipment is located. When the equipment is working, the staff cannot leave for a long time.
6. Regularly maintain and repair the laser equipment, and keep the room and surrounding of the laser equipment clean and free of oil.
7. If any abnormality is found in the process of processing, the staff should stop the machine immediately, remove the fault in time or report to the supervisor.
