If most workpieces are 16 gauge thick and the maximum length is 3 meters, the free bending force shall not be greater than 50 tons.

Assuming that the thicker material is 1 / 4 inch, 200 tons of bends are required for 10 foot free bends and at least 600 tons for bottom die bends. For most 5-foot or shorter workpieces, the tonnage is almost halved, which can greatly reduce the procurement cost. Obviously, the length of the part is very important to determine the size of the machine tool.

When the load is the same, the probability of deformation of 10 foot machine and slide plate is greatly increased, that is to say, shorter machine only needs less gasket adjustment to produce qualified parts, reduce gasket adjustment and shorten the preparation time.

The bending radius larger than the thickness of the material should be considered when selecting the bending machine with low tonnage specification, and the free bending method should be adopted as far as possible. When the bending radius is large, it is usually based on the premise that the quality and future use of the parts will not be affected.
